Founded in 1477, Uppsala University teaches approximately 40,000 students and employs 5,000 professors and researchers combined. Among its alumni, 15 have received the Nobel Prize.

The university is made up of 3 main fields of study: humanities and social sciences, medicine and pharmacy, and science and technology. All together this makes 9 faculties and around 50 different departments.

Currently, there are 51 Master degree programs offered entirely in English and the university has study exchanges with approximately 400 schools all over the world.

Uppsala was recently ranked 87th in the world by Times Higher Education.
