Equality and Diversity

Commitment to equality and diversity

ENSAI is committed to promoting equality, diversity and fighting against discrimination and sexist and sexual violence. This commitment, aimed at maintaining a respectful and inclusive climate within the school, is reflected in actions such as awareness campaigns and a reporting procedure.

As of May 2019, ENSAI has three Equality-Diversity officers. Appointed by the director, the Equality-Diversity unit’s mission is to work closely with the school’s management to meet the school’s needs and legal obligations.

The officers regularly attend training sessions and participate in conferences and networks dedicated to Equality-Diversity, particularly within the University of Rennes and the CGE. ENSAI is also involved in the Filles, Maths & Informatique events, which aim to encourage young girls to follow a scientific curriculum, particularly in mathematics and computer science.

At the beginning of each academic year, ENSAI organizes an awareness-raising session on the fight against sexist and sexual violences and discrimination for all its students. In addition, ENSAI has set up mandatory training for members of the Management Committee on issues related to gender equality and the fight against discrimination.

First-year ENSAI students are required to take the MOOC* “VSS : Violences sexistes et sexuelles : STOP!”, developed jointly by IMT Atlantique, the Conférence Permanente des chargé(e)s de mission Egalité-Diversité ( CPED) and the Association Nationale des Etudes Féministes (ANEF). No ECTS credits are associated with this specific UE, but its validation is a requirement for graduation.

Since September 2021, ENSAI students and staff have access to a portal for reporting sexual and gender-based violence, harassment (moral or sexual), and hazing.
