Objectives

Define a problem based on an economic subject and bibliographic research ; Identify the main economic concepts enabling the problem to be understood ; Analyze and synthesize documents relating to the subject ; Link an economic problem with elements of economic theory ; Respond to the problem via a scientific approach and a well-structured written report

Course outline

The objective is to use the concepts acquired in economic modeling courses to study a contemporary economic issue. Several topics will be proposed and supervised by a facilitator whom the students (in groups of 3) must meet three times before submitting their dissertations. Students will be required to conduct bibliographic research, a literature review, and conduct a scientific approach with a clear and rigorous presentation in line with economic theory. Quantitative analyses based on economic data may be conducted if the subject lends itself to it. The instructions and expectations for each project will be specified by the supervisors.
