Objectives

Master certain fundamental concepts of social sciences, be able to use them to develop an argument; Develop knowledge of the different methods of collecting and analyzing materials; Acquire knowledge of French society

Course outline

This introductory course in the social sciences aims to provide tools for understanding social and political processes and phenomena. It draws primarily on two social science disciplines: sociology and economics.rnThis course aims to offer a comprehensive perspective on the questions, objectives, and methods of the social sciences. After a general introduction to the social sciences and analytical methods, the remaining sessions will focus on more specific themes (see course outline). Classic works in the social sciences, as well as reflections from contemporary researchers, will be presented. These theoretical approaches will be combined with concrete empirical examples. This will demonstrate that the social sciences provide tools for understanding the social world.rnCourse Outline: I. Introduction to the Social Sciences II.
