Graduates received their degrees after a semester of coursework followed by a six-month internship <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW80712708 BCX0\">and <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun ContextualSpellingAndGrammarErrorV2Themed SCXW80712708 BCX0\">Master\u2019s<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW80712708 BCX0\"> thesis defense<\/span>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 2024 \u201cSmarties\u201d had defended their internship thesis earlier in the week.<\/p>\n<h3>Celebrating after an intense year<\/h3>\n<p>The graduates were joined by families, ENSAI faculty, and personnel, to celebrate their accomplishment. <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW228750474 BCX0\">The ceremony was emceed by <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW228750474 BCX0\">Todd Donahue, Head of the International Relations <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW228750474 BCX0\">at ENSAI. <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW228750474 BCX0\">Ronan Le Saout<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW228750474 BCX0\">, Director of ENSAI, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW228750474 BCX0\">was the first to <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW228750474 BCX0\">congratulate the students<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW228750474 BCX0\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Next to take the floor was <a href=\"https:\/\/ensai.fr\/en\/equipe\/portier-francois\/\">Fran\u00e7ois Portier,<\/a> head of the program this year, who praised each graduate for their hard work and their ability to foster a stimulating study environment.<\/p>\n<p>C\u00e9cile Terrien, Academic Affairs Coordinator for this program since its creation, seized the opportunity to remind the graduates that they were the best ambassadors for the Master for Smart Data Science.<\/p>\n<p>Upon receiving their degree from Ronan Le Saout, graduates said a few words about their experiences at ENSAI, notably how much this close-knit class contributed to <span class=\"TextRun SCXW59054444 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW59054444 BCX0\">meeting<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW59054444 BCX0\"> the challenge<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW59054444 BCX0\">s<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW59054444 BCX0\"> of the program.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW59054444 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>A new chapter for graduates<\/h3>\n<p>A particularity of this program is the diversity of cohorts. They are composed of international students from various backgrounds: undergraduates or professionals looking to improve their command of Data Science. All of them are now fully prepared for careers as highly skilled Data Scientists in numerous sectors. This program also opens the door to PhD studies for a research career.<\/p>\n<p>Gonem Lau joined the program as part of the double degree agreement between ENSAI and the Erasmus School of Economics in Rotterdam. He holds an MSc in Econometrics, Business Analytics and Quantitative Marketing from ESE.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhat I really liked about the program is that it\u2019s not just theoretical, but also very practical. Besides mathematics, we also learned to master tools that we can use as data scientists. The Master\u2019s gave me the knowledge and skills to do well during my 6-month research internship the <a href=\"https:\/\/www-l2ti.univ-paris13.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">L2TI Lab<\/a> at the University of Paris Sorbonne Nord, where I worked on object-detection.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Ines Rezgallah joined ENSAI\u2019s Master for Smart Data Science after completing her studies in Business Analytics in Tunisia. She did her internship at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legrand.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Legrand<\/a>, one of the world leaders in electronic products and systems for electrical installations, on \u201cAdvanced Clustering and Predictive Analytics for Supply Chain Optimization.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI was an intern in the Digital Building Infrastructure at Legrand, i.e. a supply chain department. The team was international, with colleagues from Poland, the Netherlands, Morocco&#8230; ENSAI\u2019s master&#8217;s prepared me perfectly for this type of professional environment: students of different backgrounds and cultures bring their skills together to work on projects. It was an enriching experience!
